My name is Joe Leider, and I try to view the world differently. Whether someone proposes a marketing plan, a stock tip or even an idea on how the world works, I need data. For example, a lot of economists and politicians have claimed that the Fed’s QE policies would lead to hyperinflation. Has that happened? No, the data don’t show it (yet). In marketing, I hear a lot of claims on how X promotion worked with Y people, but never with the data to back it up. In fact, a lot of corporate “research” turns out to be complete mythology.
In addition to a Master of Science in Multinational Commerce from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown, I have a 12-year background in data visualization, database marketing, marketing automation, A-B/multivariate testing & web analytics. If you think I could help you with any of these, please fill out this form.
I want to work on diverse, interesting projects. That might mean analyzing disparate sets of data using a combination of SQL, MS Access, Excel & Tableau. Or writing about data-heavy topics with data visualizations included. Or setting up testing-oriented, database-driven marketing campaigns. For more on my experience, check out my LinkedIn profile.
My other interests: I have a longer (and less successful) track record at understanding stock market movements & writing fiction. I love writing, reading about big-picture economic & political events and running marathons. If you have a project or idea along these lines that you would like to explore with me, feel free to contact me.
